Well one of the films I’ve been drooling over every tidbit has finally released a teaser trailer. Blade Runner 2049 dropped earlier today. If you didn’t know the synopsis already here it is courtesy of Alcon Entertainment:
Thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. K’s discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years.
The film is directed by Denis Villeneuve (Arrival), with Roger Deakins behind the lens (that man needs no intro). My reviewed trailer is below. If for some reason you want to watch the original (Or this gets taken down by a YT strike), view that here
Blade Runner 2049 was shot at 2.35:1 on Arri Alexa 65 and Arri Alexa XT Studio with Hasselblad Prime 65’s and Zeiss Master Prime glass.
At least on thing seems certain, and is a good thing, that the director will leave one of the biggest mysteries of SciFi unanswered, the way it should be. Leaving it open for interpretation is one of the things that makes good scifi, well, good.
Please don’t mess this one up guys. Please.
