Mocha VR Out for Adobe After Effects, Nuke, and Fusion – With a Short Intro Tutorial
Another sign of the shift in content creation.
I believe it is a slow burn for the adoption of VR. Some say it is a flop but I am being asked about it more and more by producers. They know about it and are curious about how to use it for advertising.
Specialty tools are starting to creep out to the mainstream, including this VR version of Mocha. There was a beta program going on for some time but now Imagineer Systems have released their standalone VR Planar Tracking tools to the public.
It features 360 Planar Tracking, a specific workspace for working across lat/long seams, 360 Object Removal (same as the Mocha Remove Module but in VR) and a Horizon Stabilize to help reduce unwanted motion and keep people’s lunch in their stomach. Also has the ability to undistort your footage for placement of 2D elements, then redistort for destination.
Imagineer offers a trial version as with all of their products, so no reason to not give it a shot I suppose.
