Watch: Behind the Scenes Art – Developing the Look of Ghost in the Shell
So the consensus for Ghost in the Shell seems to be “Ok Script, Stunning Visuals”. I haven’t had a chance to see it yet but my buddy who is OBSESSED with anime loved it. Take that for what it’s worth.
Ash Thorp shared a highlight reel that chronicles the visual development of the look of the film, with art, animation test, and final assets.
On Thorp’s blog is a lot of good information as well discussing the development of the Solograms (the solid holograms throughout the city), the city itself, props, posters, and logos. Really good insight into the process plus some stuff that didn’t make it.
