Trailer – The Virtual Reality Company’s “Raising a Rukus” Set to Debut at the Imax VR Experience Center
The Virtual Reality Company (nice score on that name mark guys, really damn. Don’t waste it by making shit content please) and their animated series titled Raising a Rukus will premiere at the Imax VR Experience Center in LA this week before being distro’d to other Imax VR locations in the following months. It is the first original VR series to debut at the Imax facilities.
Raising a Rukus‘ plot revolves around two siblings and a dog named Rukus as they all travel to different worlds via their pet’s magical abilities. This first episode will run 12 minutes, what I imagine to be a pre-determined length to allow an audience that isn’t used to wearing a VR HMD avoid suffering from fatigue, headache, or possible motion sickness. Although the motion chairs should really help avoid any motion sickness that could occur.
Academy Award winner Robert Stromberg, created the series. He won the Academy Award for best art direction in 2010 for “Avatar” and 2011 for “Alice in Wonderland.”
The audience will be seated in a motion chair to go along with the HMD VR experience. While the Imax venue will host the the debut of the series, The Virtual Reality Company plans to release the experience on a variety of VR headsets.
If you’re a VR enthusiast like myself, you should check it out, support the tech and community so more progress can be made in the medium
