Behind the Scenes – Gatorade G “Water Made Active” Captures a Liquid 3D Human All In Camera
You want to talk about an inspiring display of creativity? Look at this combination of art and tech with this Gatorade spot put together by Unit9.
Unit9 is a team of creatives who creates content for film, TV, video games, experiential live ads, and VR. True artists. See their reels here.
For this Gatorade Spot, Unit9 combined mocap, a Milo Moco rig, perfectly timed strobe photography and an insane liquid printer to capture an animated liquid human all in camera without CG.
The water printer consisted of over 20,000 parts and took 5000 collective hours to construct resulting in a truly unique setup. The 2,048 individual nozzles on the custom liquid printer was driven by motion capture data to drip the figure of an athlete and when synced with the strobes created an individual ‘frame’ for the camera to capture.
