Tutorial – Introduction to Houdini 16’s Newly Redesigned Hair & Fur Tools
This tutorial with Kai Stavginski will cover the new changes in Houdini 16’s hair systems. SideFX has rebuilt it from ground up and this class will look at the structure and overall design of the fur object node, a new set of procedural SOP tools, dynamics and rendering.
There is no longer a separation between manipulating guide curve geometry or painting skin attributes, as everything flows through a single graph. All of the components that make up the groom are displayed in a single network.
The hair system tools will allow unrestricted layering, tools for clumping, frizzing, curling, and trimming. At just over an hour a lot of ground is covered.
