Preview of Adobe After Effects CC Updates – New Motion Graphics and VR Features
Adobe is unveiling some of the latest CC updates at IBC 2017. Many of the usual inclusions are there with UI tweaks and under the hood speed improvements. Here is a quick overview of what stands out as most interesting from the After Effects camp.
VR / 360 Video Tools. Adobe recently purchased Mettle’s 360/VR tools with plans to integrate them into the next big release of CC. The co-founder of Mettle, Chris Bobotis joined Adobe to oversee the project. We will be seeing the first iteration soon with undistortion, restitching, and insertion of graphics in 360.
Expressions for individual mask and shape points. You should be excited about this one. Opening up a ton of possibilites, now After Effects will allow connection of mask or shape points to other elements in the project and application of expressions to individual points as well. It will include a UI panel to generate nulls for setup.
The rest include more processing offset to GPU, a new version of Cinema 4D Lite, font previews, and a visual keyboard shortcut remapping UI.
