See Peter Popken’s Concept Art That Shaped the Look of Blade Runner 2049
Peter Popken is a concept designer from Germany. He studied graphic design in Munich while working freelancing for Architectural and Industrial Design firms.
Popken is behind the look and development of over 40 feature films like MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: Rogue Nation, AVENGERS: Age Of Ultron, THOR: The Dark Age and FANTASTIC BEASTS.
His latest big release was Blade Runner 2049, which is true art frame by frame with nothing happening by mistake (well maybe a few mistakes as any good artist will tell you). Using the designs from Popken, Villeneuve and Deakins crafted one of the visually stunning looks of the year. Peek at the concept art:
Unfortunately the film is not doing too well at the box office with an estimate budget of $150-$185, and box office of $224.1, it is making profit but just barely. Support it and check it out before you lose the chance to catch it in the cinema. The image and sound is worth it x 1000. Also check out more of Popken’s art at his website.
