Effex 2.8 for Cinema 4D Fluid Dynamics Simulation now a Free Download
Don’t have or can’t justify the need for Houdini or Xparticles? You may have heard of Effex, a physics simulation package for Cinema 4D. It used to be priced historically between $700 – $1300 but is now free to download on Github. The last version (and the one available to download) was Effex 2.8.
The tool was relatively popular 5 years ago as a solution for fluids in Cinema 4D offering volumetric sims, particles, and rigid body dynamics. It supports surface tension, bullet physics, and can be controlled through Xspresso nodes and COFFEE scripting.

And a note for those installing who are having troubles, an additional dll library may be needed. If you have tbb.dll copy into the Cinema 4D installation folder. If you need the library altogether, download from the following:
extract and navigate to tbb2018_20171205oss\bin\intel64\vc14\tbb.dll and use that file.
